HUNTER LINDLEY REED On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, Lindley Reed Hunter. Beloved wife of the late James Grant Hunter; mother of Lindley Hunter Scarff (Timothy B.) of Fayetteville, GA; grandmother of Hunter B. Scarff of Tulsa, OK and James E. Scarff of Fayetteville, GA; aunt of Matilda Powers Forsell (the late Richard) of Westfield, NY, Daniel G. Powers (Carolyn) of Roswell, GA, Mary Marks Unkovic (John C.) of Pittsburgh, PA, Margaret Marks Meacham (John) of Brooklandville, MD, Margot Sutton McConnel (William Bruce) of St. Michael's, MD, John B. Sutton III of Park City, UT and the late William McK. Reed Powers (the late Jane) and the late J. Grier Marks (the late Patricia). Lindley was born in Pittsburgh on May 25, 1919, and was confirmed in the Church of the Ascension. She attended The Ellis School and The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Lindley married James Grant Hunter on May 11, 1946. She worked for the Trust Department at the Union Trust Company, as a bookkeeper at Tots & Tweeds clothing store and was a Realtor in the late 70s and early 80s. Lindley was a lifetime member of The Church of the Ascension, a Charter member of the Window Box Garden Club, she belonged to The Pittsburgh Golf Club and the National Society of Colonial Dames of America/Pennsylvania. She volunteered for The Altar Guild at the Church of the Ascension, St. Margaret's Hospital, and The American Red Cross during WWII. She was a Board Member at the Rebecca Residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in The Church of the Ascension. Arrangements by JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC.
