
BUTCHER ANN PETRONELLA (LAUKIN) A resident of Sewickley since 1951, died peacefully in her home on May 4, 2015. Born on November 1, 1916, in Pittsburgh to Anna Bucmis and Anton Laukinitis, Ann was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harry F. Butcher; sisters, Lillian Laukinitis and Helen C. Boldy; and brother, Anthony J. Laukin. Ann served during World War II in the United States Navy WAVES from 1944-1945. Having attended business school, she was employed upon discharge from the WAVES by American Bridge in the Chicago, Illinois office where she met her future husband. After marrying in Chicago and transferring with American Bridge to Pittsburgh, Ann left her position to raise their family. She supported her church, community and children's activities through many years of volunteer work. Dearly loved by her family, Ann's lifelong physical and spiritual resilience has been inspirational. Ann is survived by her children, Deena (Dan Geller) Butcher, Barbara (Rob) Peary, and Bill Butcher; grandchildren, Elizabeth Geller (Jarrett) Golz and Evan Geller; sister-in-law, Mel Laukin; nieces, Linda (Tom) Kijanka, Sandra (Wayne) Buchanan, Sharon (Joe) Meirose; and nephew, Steven (Toni) Boldy. Services to honor Ann will be held in Sewickley on Friday, May 22, 2015. Visitation at COPELAND'S FUNERAL HOME, 9:30-11:30 a.m., with a Noon Mass at St. James Church, Rev. Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Moon Township.
