BERRY MARGARET MARGE Age 83, of McMurray, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, in ManorCare, Greentree. She was born August 8, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Edward Swallow and Sylvia Uridil Swallow. Marge spent several years residing in Virginia before she and her husband moved to Bethel Park where they raised their family. They lived in a very close knit neighborhood, the Murray Avenue clan and continued those friendships with her neighborhood family. After her husband, Douglas, retired, they moved back to Virginia where they built their dream home. Marge was an integral part of the Madison County, Virginia Chamber of Commerce. For years, she voluntarily managed the chamber where she took care of its membership services and coordinated numerous events, just to name a few. She wrote articles for many different publications including the chamber and the garden club. She was quite the creative writer, even dabbing a bit in poetry or anything that you would like her to write about. Marge loved being around people and enjoyed working in her garden. She was also active in a book club in her neighborhood where she resided. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy and husband, Jim Gavala, of Carroll Township; granddaughter, Lacey Gavala; sister, Beverly Aylor and husband, George, of Madison, VA; and her beloved companion, Angel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Berry; and her daughter, Leila Puglisi. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, where Services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Mark Woomer, officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
