HACKER JOHN R., Jr. Age 93, of UPMC Seneca Manor in Penn Hills, formerly of Latrobe, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born October 26, 1921, in Loyalhanna, PA, a son of the late John J. and Mary (Kubat) Hacker. John was a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by Teledyne-Vasco with over 44 years of service. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the 1881st Engineering Aviation Battalion attached to the U.S. 5th Air Corps and U.S. 6th Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #945. Throughout his life, John enjoyed automobile racing and later on he enjoyed golfing as well. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Patak) Hacker; a daughter-in-law, Andrea M. (Salamacha) Hacker; a brother, James Hacker of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters, Elsie Blasco (and her husband Steve) of Latrobe, and Shirley Folino (and her husband Anthony) of Trafford; and a brother-in-law, Robert Klym of Derry. John is survived by his son, Raymond J. Hacker, of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Raymond A. Hacker, Jr., of Pittsburgh; one sister, Karen Klym of Derry; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. Members of the St. Rose Rosary Altar Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Military services will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home by the American Legion Post #515 and VFW Posts #3414 and #444. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Church with the Rev. Rod Rodriguez as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
