PIZOLI WILLIAM FRANCIS On Thursday April 11, 2019, William Francis Pizoli passed away peacefully at home in Fox Chapel, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan Donohue Pizoli. Born May 26, 1925 in Pittsburgh, he served his country honorably as a sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and graduated in 1950 from St. Francis University in Loretta, PA. His professional life included founding Dart Chemical Co. and working as a partner with BMI Inc. a multifaceted business serving the steel industry. He enjoyed time in Punta Gorda, Fla., and Ocean City, N.J., and was a member of the Duquesne Club and the Pittsburgh Field Club. His warm personality and positive outlook on life were legendary. He had many interests, but what he cherished most was spending time with his family and was happiest when they were all together. Along with his wife; he is survived by his children, Patricia Sheridan, William Francis Pizoli Jr. (Amy), Karen McCarthy (James), Jay Pizoli (Abby), Constance Pizoli and Virginia Sinnott (Michael); he was the beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandfather to six great granddaughters; he is also survived by his loving sister-in-law Anne Speitel; and numerous nieces and nephews. BRAUN DOROTHY F. Peacefully passed away surrounded by family at Shadyside Hospital on Saturday morning, April 13, at the age of 91 and 9 months, the same age at which her husband, Howard E. Braun, died four years earlier. Born July 13, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Alex and Sarah Friedman, she and her brothers Emil and Julian loved growing up with dozens of cousins and friends within their Brownsville neighborhood. She met Howard in Brooklyn through his sister, Lora. Soon after marriage, they moved to Schenectady and San Jose, eventually settling in Pittsburgh in 1963. Dottie was a founding member of Congregation Dor Hadash and an active member of the Pittsburgh Jewish community. She was also a life-long Hadassah member, starting with Junior Hadassah. She was well loved by her family and friends. She was always very supportive of her family and encouraged them to pursue new adventures and grow as individuals. She is survived by children, Steven and Rachel Braun, Michele Braun and Norman Bernstein, and Janet Braun; grandchildren, Aviva and Justin, Eli and Alyce, Hannan, Molly and Alex, Sarah-Judith, Louis, Shira; and great-granddaughter, Simone. WIEGMAN MARGARET M. Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, Margaret M. Wiegman passed into eternity at the age of 101. She grew up on East Street and was active in St. Boniface Church and the community. She moved to Avalon in the early 70s and for the last 10-plus years, she was part of the Vincentian Home community. Margaret spent most of her life cooking for others; beginning at St. Boniface Church as a cook for the priests, then Sky Vue Terrace and for Northgate High School until her retirement at the age of 76. She then volunteered as a cook for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wiegman; a daughter, Carol Richards; her brother, James O'Neill; her sister, Virginia O'Neill; and her grandsons, Ken and Brian. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen McKee; her grandchildren, Tracy and Sean, and by five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday 4-8 p.m. at LAWRENCE T. GOERN CAMILLE (FARNUM) Of Pittsburgh, PA, aged 81, died on March 29, 2019. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa on July 2, 1937 to Dorothy and Harold Farnum. She earned a degree from Carlow College. In 1960, she married Harry Max Goern, an executive at ALCOA. She was mother of two children, Gillian and Adam. Camille was an artist, patron, teacher, traveler, sportsperson and friend beyond her role as wife and mother during her entire life. As a teacher, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to immigrants in Pittsburgh with Literacy Pittsburgh and served as a docent at the Senator John Heinz History Center. As a patron, she supported talented artists at the Pittsburgh Opera. As an artist, she commercially sold her work in water color and oil. She studied with her friends and peer artists Dorothy Tracy and Betty Phillips by taking art class instruction from Pittsburgh artist Nat Youngblood. As a traveler, she visited almost every country in the world and respected every culture. She learned to speak French by immersion study in Paris to prepare for corporate life during the 1980s in Lausanne, Switzerland. As a sportsperson, she was an avid swimmer and downhill skier. As an entrepreneur, she made a windfall by speculating on a penny stock and used those proceeds to fund the purchase of a boutique clothing store that she branded White Pine, in Sewickley. As a friend, she maintained relationships through informal groups called the Walkers, Movie Club, the Knitters and the Bridge Club. Camille was also a member of numerous clubs including the Duquesne Club, the Pittsburgh Golf Club and the Twentieth Century Club. Camille was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; she is survived by her daughter, Gillian Lee and husband, Roark Frankel; son, Adam Gregory and wife, Jessica Huset Tilton; grandchildren, Penn Hartmann Bullock, Cole Goern Frankel, Gabrielle Goern Frankel, Clay Goern Frankel and Nathaniel Max Goern; and two cousins, Kim Hannon and Robin O'Connor. The family will be holding a memorial service in May and will make information available soon. Active as both a youth and adult in the Boy Scouts of America, he was an Eagle Scout, Lodge Chief in the Order of the Arrow, founding member and later Scoutmaster of Troop 115, Penn Hills. Mr. Zeno was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. During the Korean Conflict he served as an officer in the Army Medical Service and retired after 37 years of Federal Service. While with the Veteran's Administration, he was a supervisory social worker and over the years coordinated the field placement of some 150 students from the University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University.
