(Anna) Cawley, III, Mariah (Tony) Banks, Ryan, Shane and Bryce Cawley. Devoted grandfather of Hailey, Landen, Asher, Noah, Brielle, Weston and Tinsley. Loving brother of Kathleen (Bill) Colbert, Maureen (Mark) Novak and Eileen (Charles) Skalski. Also survived by a cousin, who he considered a brother, Ernest Cawley. JOHN KARTSONAS Age 82, of Forest Hills, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Beloved husband for 57 years to JoAnn; loving father of Dean (Katie), Alexia (Keith) Rheinhardt and Stephanie Arnold; devoted grandfather of Sophia, Jack, Emilia Kartsonas, Mason Rheinhardt, Alexa and Tessa Arnold; also survived by sister-in-law, Dora and nephews, Tom and Al. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas and mother, Demetria (Drukas) Kartsonas, brother Nick and son-in-law, Ed Arnold. John was born and raised in Oakland and was a graduate of Schenley High School and the University of Pittsburgh. John had a successful career in accounting at the Pittsburgh Hilton for 50 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he received the St. Photios award in 2019 for his 60 years of service as a board member, member of the choir, food festival coordinator and youth club volunteer. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and all sports in general. John will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and husband who was devoted to his family and friends and always had a positive outlook on life. May his memory be eternal. Friends will be received on Thursday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 419 S. Dithridge Street, Pgh., PA 15213 from 10:00 a.m. until a 12:00 noon funeral service. SISTER ELIZABETH ANN STOCK, SC SISTER ELIZABETH ANN STOCK, SC (formerly known as Sister M. Assumpta), age 87, died at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill in Greensburg, on January 6, 2020. Born in Pittsburgh, Sister Elizabeth Ann (Betty) entered the congregation of the Sisters of Charity on September 8, 1950, from Saint Canice Parish, Pittsburgh. Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary M. Stock, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alberta J. (Robert) Sherman; and nieces and nephews. She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Seton Hill University, a master's degree in secondary science education from Ohio State University and a master's degree in theology from Saint Michael College, Vermont. Sister Elizabeth Ann taught students of the primary, intermediate and secondary level in schools of the dioceses of Altoona-Johnstown, Greensburg, Pittsburgh and New Orleans. From 1985 until 1989, she ministered as a consultant for Secondary School Catechesis in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. From 1989 until 2004, Sister Elizabeth Ann was the Pastoral Minister at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Greensburg and was then was named adjunct professor of religion at Seton Hill University from 2005-2006. In 1966, while teaching at Greensburg Central Catholic High School, Sister Elizabeth Ann received the Paladin Grand Cross Award from the late Bishop William G. Connare, D.D. She was honored for her outstanding leadership in promoting, through the medium of the Catholic Students' Mission Crusade, greater knowledge and a deeper understanding of the Church's missionary work in the world, and of the responsibilities of Catholic youth related to this mission. (DeGrazia) Gyurina; son of the late John and Agnes (Egnac) Gyurina; loving father of Jan (Rocky) Bleier, Jacqueline (Gerry) Dudley, James (Susie) Gyurina and John (Kelly) Gyurina; devoted grandfather of Maggie, Abby, Ava, John J. II, Angela, Elbridge, Elly, Rosie, Madeline, Charley and John III; Jim was a 1952 graduate of Carnegie Tech where he obtained a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, member of the ROTC and served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant. Upon graduating from Carnegie Tech, he began his 45year long career in the deep foundation construction industry. He spent 37 years working as the District Manager and Regional Manager, then part Owner of McKinney Drilling Company, until his retirement in 1999. Although he was very dedicated to his work, his focus and source of joy was always his time spent with his family. DENISE M. DEVLIN Age 52, died suddenly December 30, 2019. Beloved friend and wife for 35 years of William Devlin, foster daughter of Andrea Lohmann and the late James Lohmann, sister in law of Carol Florkowski, and best friend of Cindy (Nick) Pastor. A dedicated employee of Chatham University Physicians Assistant program for 12 years. Denise enjoyed the challenges and responsibilities of her position and knew she was making a difference in many lives. Denise brought so much beauty into the world. Whether it be from her wonderful dimpled smile, the twinkle in her eyes, holiday decorations or garden improvements. Denise was always on the move. During the spring and summer, she was frequently seen outside gardening. In the colder months she was constantly remodeling her apartment. Known as the unofficial grounds' keeper of her apartment building, she kept the porch and yard filled with beautiful flowers, plants and shrubs. There were elaborate holiday decorations complete with beautiful lights. Denise would always find a way to make everything a bit more special. Denise was a vegetarian for 30 years and had a kind and gentle heart for all living things and people, but her passion was cats. She volunteered at Foster Cats. Many cats were saved and adopted because of Denise. She never forgot any of them. Denise will be missed by all. She would want everyone to smile as they remember her. Maslo, Dr. Anthony D. (Michele) Maslo; brother of Mary Toth (late Andrew), late Margaret (late Pete) Delphus, late Olga (late Regis) Tornabene, late Alberta (late John) Albert; grandfather of Anthony J., Alexander, and August Maslo. He was survived by his loving wife of 69 years and was a loving husband, father and grandfather devoted to his family. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Donner and he worked at FritoLay for 30+ years. He was a lifetime member of the Finleyville Moose and Cecil VFW. He was a member of the St. John Evangelical Dartball League in Carnegie, PA. He loved to dance, golf, bowl, hunt, and was a skilled stone mason. He also played soccer for the Cecil Soccer Club. He was a patched softball umpire and enjoyed spending time on the ballfield. In addition he loved the outdoors.
