Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Gladys; wife of 50 years, Dorris; and brothers, Robert and Jacob. Graduate of Youngstown State University and worked at Bechtel Bettis as an engineer for 54 years. He was a deacon, elder, and trustee of the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, an avid reader, computer enthusiast, lover of choral music, and most of all one who treasured making memories with his family. COSTELLO EDWARD On Friday, February 12, 2016, age 89, of Oakmont, formerly of Penn Hills. Loving husband of Barbara Costello; devoted father of Mary (Michael) Hill, Deirdre (Carl) Hasselman, Pat (Lenore) Costello and John (Patti) Costello; loving grandfather of Kayla, Colum, Bridget, Ailis, Maeve, Ashleen, Aidan, Ciara, Paul, Mairead, Maura, Patrick, Eamonn and Aine. Preceded in death by siblings, Martin, Mary, Delia, and Pat. He was born in Galway, Ireland on August 14, 1926. Edward came to the United States in 1947. He fought in the Korean War. After his service, he went to work at Paper Products Co. He planned on working there for a year to see if he liked it, if not he planned on returning to the Army. He ended up working there for 55 years. Due to the kindness of his bosses, whom he considered his friends, they permitted him to work even after signs of dementia started to take effect. Dad always said that he was happiest when he had his children and grandchildren around him. He will be sadly missed. She was the beloved daughter of James and the late Pearl Donovan; wife of Mark McCauley; mother of Kendall, 22 and Connor, 17; sister of Thomas Donovan and the late Sharon Donovan; sister-in-law of Priscilla Donovan; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary Beth spent all her time selflessly caring for her family and never ceasing to find time for others, even when her plate was full. She had a love of sports, which connected her to her husband Mark to begin a beautiful family. Mary Beth also loved spending her time gardening, staying connected with friends and relatives, and giving constant care and love to her black lab, Oliver. SHERLOCK RICHARD JAMES Age 95, of Panama City Beach, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Covenant Care Hospice. Richard was born October 9, 1920, in Youngstown, OH to James and Emma (Frisch) Sherlock and moved to Panama City Beach in 1990 coming from Lima, OH. Richard was a WWII Navy Submarine veteran who served on the USS Pampanito (now part of the Maritime Museum in San Francisco, CA) during three of its war patrols in the South Pacific. Richard was retired from the steel industry where he was past President of Blaw Knox Steel and Chairman of Teledyne Ohio Steel, from which he retired in 1985. His memberships included the Submarine Veterans, Sea Wolf Base of Panama City, the Fleet Reserve, The Am-Vets, Post #47 of Panama City Beach and was a Life Member of the US Submarine Veterans, The American Iron and Steel Institute, Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, The American Society for Metals, and the American Ordnance Association. Richard was united in marriage on November 23, 1946, in Youngstown, OH, to his wife, Rita Vaschak, who preceded him in death in 1998 after 51 years of marriage. Richard was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Ruth Sherlock and Dorothy Zimmerman. He is survived by his son, Rick (Lyn) Sherlock of Falls Church, VA; his daughter, Susan Sherlock of Panama City Beach; his granddaughters, Stephanie Lee and Heather Sherlock; and his great-granddaughter, Corynn. Friends will be received 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, at the KENT - FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME where a Rosary will be recited that evening at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at St. John Catholic Church. HUCKO PEARL M. (ROMANYSHYN) On Saturday, February 13, 2016, Pearl M. passed away peacefully, at the age of 92. Married for 63 years to the late John P. Hucko, she was the beloved mother of Sandy (Dwight) Lewis and Dan (Deena) Hucko; cherished grandmother of Dara, Blake and Connor Lewis, and Simon and Timothy Hucko; great- grandmother to Kathleen Anna Hucko; and sister to Eleanor Powers. The family invites friends to come celebrate her life at a memorial service at the Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church, 1760 Pine Hollow Road, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 on WEDNESDAY at 11:00 a.m. Born in West Park in 1923, she never left the area except for a brief stint at Indiana State Teachers College. Pearl was a natural teacher who influenced the lives of thousands of students during her 40-plus year career at Sto-Rox. She loved music, art and nature, and served as the choir director and organist at the McKees Rocks Methodist Church, was an active member of the Kennedy Township Garden Club, and created many beautiful watercolor renderings of plants, flowers and landscapes. She had great inner strength, perhaps forged in the Great Depression and tempered by the events during World War II. We will miss her optimism for life, and will always remember and be inspired by her resilience. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church. TARR BONNIE JEAN Age 67, of Adams Street, New Castle, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at UPMC Passavant Cranberry, Cranberry Twp. She was born in Pittsburgh on December 31, 1948, a daughter of the late George Edward and Alice Grace (Noble) Tarr. Ms. Tarr worked for Allegheny Valley School and Diversified as a group home leader for 20 years. She also worked for Diversified Family Services. She was a graduate of Perry High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. Ms. Tarr enjoyed gardening, cooking and music and loved to sing and dance. She also loved animals and was an advocate for many. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by two children, Shannon Patrick Lewis and Erin Kathleen Prowell, both of New Castle; her former husband, Fred P. Lewis of Pittsburgh; one brother, Charles E. Tarr of West Sunbury, PA; one sister, Georgann R. Rasch of Grove City, PA; and two grandchildren, Payne H. Prowell and Lucas L. Prowell.
