KING ROBERT J. Age 95, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Mt. Washington, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017. Bob was born November 4, 1921, to the late Michael and Rebecca (McCune) King. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ackerman, whom he was married to for 38 years; and by his second wife, Joan Miller, whom he was married to for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, William King. He is survived by his children, Robert (Maureen) King, Carol (Frank) Koch, and Jeff (Kim) King; also survived by his grandchildren, Dr. Jason (Kajal) Koch, Matt (Diane) Koch, Frank (Mandie) Koch, Jr., James (J.R.) King, Brianne King, and Dr. Kelly (Anthony) Redden. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a proud member of Steamfitter Union #449 for 75 years and at one time was President of the Union. He served in World War II as a Tech Sergeant #143 Infantry 36th Division in Europe. He was a POW in Germany for nine months. He was a longtime member of VFW Post #5111. Bob was an avid golfer and played every weekend with his Steamfitter buddies and his sons. Bob was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Church where he attended daily mass until he went to Baptist Home. WHITE LYNN WESTERMAN Our lives were greatly enhanced by an incredible human being and are now sadly reduced by her passing. Lynn Westerman White died July 22, 2017, at Masonic Village, Sewickley, PA, age 87. Born in Jackson, MI, this tap-dancing, roller-skating toddler grew up to write (and star in) a play about Heidi in the third grade and was the first girl editor of her senior high newspaper. Fair minded and compassionate, she was a a volunteer in the Psychiatric Ward of the V.A. Hospital in Lyons, NJ as well as at the Royer Greaves School (for blind children) in Paoli, PA and the Women's Thrift Shop in Madison, NJ. She inaugurated a Hospitality Committee for her Quaker Meeting in New Jersey, taught Sunday School and helped guide the architect who designed a new Meeting House. Lynn was the daughter of the late George W. and Carmen (Wagner) Westerman. She is survived by her husband, William; her children, Peter (Carolyn Kalldin) and Melissa; grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Anna, Meredith (Gary Caponegro) and Jennifer (Scott Lombardo); her great-grandchildren, Callie and Luke; and her siblings, Richard and George Westerman. Lynn is a product of Antioch College, Yellow Springs, OH, and Drew University, Madison, NJ. After a career as a loving mother (her children referred to her as their rock), she entered the work force as a cost analyst at Foster Wheeler, Inc. When she retired, she bought a 40-inch floor loom and taught herself to weave. Other interests included songbirds, wildflowers, unusual stones and rubber stamps. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress, as well as a photographer with her own darkroom, and she was an avid reader.
