LAMBERT LEONARD C. Of Shadyside, on Saturday, January 6, 2018, age 85. Beloved husband of the late Julia Drake Lambert; father of Bob Lambert (Marisol), Mike Lambert (Valerie) and Carol Huggins (Ken); grandfather of Aliette, Frederick, Jessica and Hailey Lambert and Christian Huggins; brother of Betty Hawkins (Bruce), Helen Harding (Lew), Sibbald Lambert (Shirley) and Don Lambert (the late Ginger); also survived by nieces and nephews. Leonard was born in Cherokee, NC and was an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He attended North Carolina State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent the majority of his life working for Alcoa, and living abroad with his family in Suriname, Australia, Brazil and Mexico and later as a consultant, in India and S. Korea. Both Leonard and his wife, Julia had a passion for traveling, visiting more than 60 countries. He was an avid artist and author, publishing a childhood memoir, “Up From These Hills: Memories of a Cherokee Boyhood.” A service will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Leonard's name to the American Heart Association. ZYMA ANNETTE Age 86, of North Versailles, died Jan. 9, 2018, at her home. Born Feb. 7, 1931, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Casper and Sophia (Osolinski) Rybka and the wife of the late Edwin Zyma. Annette was a homemaker and lifelong member of Corpus Christi Parish. She enjoyed watching movies, cooking and baking, trips to the casino and especially, spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include children, Edwin (Toni) of North Versailles, David (the late Pamela) of East McKeesport, Beverly (Terry) Nash of North Versailles and Roger (Patricia) of Birdsboro; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dolores (John) Marcinko of Fullerton, CA and Ronald “Rip” (Cheryl) Rybka of Port Vue; nieces and nephews. MOHRBACHER ROBERT E. Mr. Robert E. Mohrbacher, 91, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Cumberland Crossing at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Mr. Mohrbacher was born on December 15, 1926 in Marion Twp. to the late Frederick and Anna Borman Mohrbacher. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1944. Robert enlisted with the U.S. Navy on January 3, 1945 and served as an Apprentice Seaman until his discharge on November 22, 1946. He was awarded the Word War II Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Ribbon. Following his service with the Navy, Robert graduated from Dartmouth College in 1948 with a degree in Economics. He worked in the management department for the U.S. Steel Corporation until his retirement in 1984 in Ellwood City PA, Gary IN, Pittsburgh, PA, and McKeesport PA. While living in Ellport, Robert helped start the Ellport Boosters Club which benefited the Wur-Ell-Wayne Little League Baseball organization. He is a past member of the Connoquenessing Country Club, and had served on the Ellwood City Area School District school board for two terms as President. In his spare time Robert enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his daughter Beth Anne (Ted) Makowski of Franklin Twp.; his son Fred (Susan) Mohrbacher of Franklin Park; his grandchildren Robert (Erin) Makowski, Erick Mohrbacher, and Patrick Mohrbacher; his great-grandchildren Makenna, Emma, and John Makowski; his sister Delores (John) Jackson of Texas; and his brother John Mohrbacher also of Texas. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma I.Mozes Mohrbacher whom he married on February 26, 1949 and passed away on July 24, 2009, and his brother Joe Mohrbacher. WIRANT MAUREEN M. (MANNING) Age 88, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018, with her family by her side. Maureen was the Beloved Wife of 55 years to the late John A. Wirant. She is survived by her three children: Alex (Michael) Trautman, John (Elizabeth) Wirant, and Lee Wirant, and also her six grandchildren. Maureen greatly loved both her family and her catholic faith. Although her later years were beset with health-related trials, Maureen endured with dignity and remained lovely in her ways. PETRELLA JASON MICHAEL “The angels are always near to those who are grieving, to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God.” On January 8, 2018, Jason Michael Petrella, age 42, of Monaca, died suddenly from natural causes. Jason was a 1994 graduate of Monaca High School and a 1998 graduate of St. Francis College. He received his Master's degree from the School of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. He spent the majority of his career in banking with positions in Washington D.C. and Columbus, OH before returning home. Anyone who knew Jason, knew his true passion was politics and government. He ran for the State Senate in 2008 and remained engaged in politics throughout his life. He thoroughly enjoyed talking to people and learning more about them. Jason was an Officer in the Monaca Sons of Italy Lodge, and member of the Monaca Wolves Club and Beaver County Chamber of Commerce. Jason is survived by his Father and best friend, Donald E. Petrella (Sherry), of Monaca and his Mother, the late Paula M. Petrella. He was the loving brother to his sisters, Lisa Petrella, of Shaler and Robyn (Pete) Tsudis, of Ben Avon. He was a treasured uncle to nieces, Mia, Nella and Sofia Tsudis and Grace and Isabella Neff who will miss him always. Jason is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. MENNI JODY H. Age 62, of Robinson Township, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in her home, following a ten-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on February 8, 1955, in Brownsville, a daughter of Charlotte C. Chambers Hughes, of Allison, PA, and the late Charles A. Hughes, Sr. Jody was graduated as Valedictorian of her Brownsville High School class, and was graduated from California University of Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor's Degree. Mrs. Menni was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon, and sang in the choir. As a microbiologist, Jody worked in the Microbiology Lab in Suburban Hospital, then UPMC Mercy Hospital, and most recently at Allegheny General Hospital. She loved being involved in her children's lives, was an avid reader, and loved her pets and plants. On October 24, 1981, she married William Eric Menni, who died on July 26, 2013. Surviving are two sons, Jordan Christopher Menni, of Robinson Township, and Jason Eric Menni, of Robinson Township; two brothers, Charles A. (Charla) Hughes, Jr., of Fresno, CA, and William W. (Joyce) Hughes, of Allison, PA; a sister, Charlene R. Hughes, of Quaker Hill, CT; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dr. Barbara and Dr. Raymond Juriga, of Uniontown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. GROVES DONNA LEE Donna Lee Groves, 82, of Chicora, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the home of her friend. She was born November 18, 1935 in Grove City, PA, the daughter of George K. and Violet Mae (Eisenhuth) Groves. Donna graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in English Literature. For many years, she was a teacher and administrator for the School for the Deaf in Albuquerque, NM, and served as the director of the preschool at the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and watching sports. She is survived by her dear friends and care givers Ella and Paul Baker, and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Groves. She was born October 21, 1944, in McKeesport; a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Beisler Cook. Mrs. Stewart was employed as the office manager for her husband, Dr. Charles E. Stewart, D.D.M., in Charleroi. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to visit friends in Germany.
