PURCELL REGIS Age 83, passed away on March 9, 2018. Beloved husband of Mary (Ciraula) Purcell; father of Judith (DeeAnn Butchko) Purcell, Joy (Richard) Lamars, and William (Rachel) Purcell; grandfather of Sara Lamars, Payton Purcell, Nathan Purcell, Brenna Purcell-Butchko, and Alayna Purcell-Butchko; brother of the late William Purcell; and son of the late Elsie Wilhelm. He was happiest when spending time with his family, giving them the most genuine love and support. He was always ready with questions to ask others about their lives or ready to attend his grandkids' events, making sure they knew how proud he was of them. Regis was a veteran and worked for P&LE Railroad, and he loved to share stories about his life and his childhood. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pittsburgh PA 15236. MCCAFFERTY CHARLES J. “CHUCK” Charles J. "Chuck" McCafferty, Jr., 89, of Buffalo Twp., passed away on Friday, March 9th, 2018 peacefully, at Butler Co. Memorial Hospital in Butler. Chuck was born in Sarver on June 1, 1928. He was the son of the late Elizabeth (Falkner) and Charles J. McCafferty, Sr. He was the widower of S. Irene (Hawdon) McCafferty who died in 1998. He worked as an analytical chemist with PPG in Creighton and Harmarville for 47 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member and past president of Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy. Family and friends will be received on on Monday, March 12th, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC. at 524 High St. in Freeport. Beloved wife of 55 years to Chet Szalla; loving mother of Douglas (Susan) and Kent (Amy); proud Nana of Max, Ava and Reid; daughter of the late Cyril and Vera Winslow; sister of Ken Winslow, Karen Rose, Janis Koslow and Tim Winslow; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Elaine was a voracious reader, always seeking knowledge. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and all around wonderful person, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Parker (Chris). She was greatly loved by her children; nine grandchildren; and 28 great- grandchildren. She led a joyful, exciting, interesting life and leaves a legacy of strong faith and love. KOVACK JOHN P. Age 75, of Sarver, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018, at his home with his loving wife by his side. His passing has left us with pain but he is finally free of pain. Born December 18, 1942, in Titusville, PA, he was the son of the late John Kovack and Francis Elizabeth Kovack. He was a 1960 graduate of East Deer Frazer and attended Allegheny Tech for two years. John worked at Magnavox in Champaign, IL, at Good Year Aerospace in Ohio for one year and Link Company in Binghampton, New York. John retired in 2007 from the Pittsburgh Bulk Mail Center in Wexford, PA after 32 years of service. He loved his job. John enjoyed traveling, hunting, camping and playing softball. Surviving are his loving wife, Susan Regent Kovack, whom he married April 27, 1973; his brothers, Thomas Kovack of New Kensington and Arthur Kovack; and his sister, Nancy Kovack Domschke of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 3-7 p.m. at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, INC., 410 W. Main Street, Saxonburg. (Brandi) Ketter; loving Nina to Finley and Jake; daughter of the late William and Monica Barry; beloved sister of Bill (Mickey), Kevin (Jessica), John (Kathy), James, and Patty Barry, Maureen (Gary) Jacovino and Lynn (David) Mingone. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Monica graduated from Duquesne where she earned an academic scholarship. She was a 50-year employee of VA Health System. Monica enjoyed and embraced life to the fullest especially enjoyed boating on the rivers and spending time with her family and friends.
