JENA SR. ANNE, OSF ON MAY 8, 2...
JENA Sr. ANNE, OSF On May 8, 2018. Loving aunt of Kathy Saldoutte, Nancy Bichler, Bill McFarland, Bobby Jenna, Eric Jena, Greg Jena, John Binder, Donald Binder, Mark Binder and the late Diane Jena, Elaine Jena and Ray Jena; she also leaves behind several great- nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Jena; sister of the late Raymond Jena, Robert Jena, Donald Jena, Clare Binder and Lorraine McFarland. For most of her eighty years in community, Sister Anne ministered in food service in several of the community's convents in Pittsburgh and at St. Francis Hospital in New Castle. Sister Anne was a baker and cook par excellence. Her signature sweet rolls were one of her culinary talents enjoyed by all those who knew her. Sister Anne was a hard worker always willing to help wherever there was a need. While she was missioned at St. Augustine Convent in Lawrenceville, Sister Anne learned that there were people going hungry because they were unable to shop and prepare meals for themselves. She recognized a need and wanted to respond. She took her cooking skills and expanded them beyond the convent walls. With the cooperation of the pastor of St. Augustine Parish and many volunteers, Sister Anne began the Meals on Wheels program in the area. More recently Sister Anne's ministry was one of prayer for the needs of God's people. She felt that her prayer life and attendance at daily Mass provided her with the graces she was most in need of at this time of her life. She relied heavily on her favorite passage from St. Paul to the Corinthians: Love is patient, love is kind
there is no limit to love's forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure.
