HIGGINS DALE J., Jr. Age 45, unexpectedly, at his Ingram home, on Saturday, July 11, 2015, formerly of Linesville. Husband of the late Kimberly Patrick; beloved father of Lindsey (Justin) White; devoted grandfather of Kiley White; loving son of Sharon (Shrock) and the late Dale, Sr.; dear brother of Jennifer Shrock; cherished grandson of Edythe and the late Eldon King and Charles and Sally Higgins. Dale will be sadly missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Dale was a US Air Force veteran with over ten years of service and he was employed with State Farm Insurance for over 15 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially with the horses. Beloved husband of Linda Marie (Flynn); proud father of Dominic (Jennifer), Lea (James McClenahan), and Mark (Heidi); loving Pap Pap to Riley and Everett McClenahan, Alissa and William Wilson, and Emma Genito; brother of Louis (Donna) Genito, Karen (Ronald) Kosko; brother-in-law of Leo (Nancy) Flynn, James (Delores) Flynn, John (Virginia) Flynn, Dennis (Michelle) Flynn and the late Patricia (George) Dirle, Eileen (Andrew) Ragan, and Elizabeth (Bruce) Butrym; son of the late Louis and Clara Genito; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Robert was a graduate of Penn State and Duquesne Universities. He was a former career counselor at Robert Morris University and a retired Maintenance Mechanic instructor for US Airways. Robert bravely fought Multiple Sclerosis for 41 years, never quitting. PLANITZER JAMES T., Jr. Age 83, of Daytona Beach, FL, died on June 7, 2015. Jim was born on January 2, 1932, to the late James T., Sr. and Margaret (Forse) Planitzer in Pittsburgh, PA. His careers in the automotive management and independent auto damage insurance appraisals in metro Pittsburgh spanned many decades. In retirement, he drove a school bus for Chartiers Valley Schools until retiring again in 1996. He moved to Daytona Beach and became active with Volusia County School Transportation where he was 2005 "Driver of the Year." He had many perfect attendance years. "Mr. Jim", as he was affectionately known, retired in 2013 after suffering a stroke. He then battled cancer for two years until finally passing away. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He later served in Germany with the U.S. Army's 101st "Screaming Eagles" until honorably discharged in January 1955. He was a member of the Outreach Ministry at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church as well as a life member of the VFW Post 3282, both in Port Orange, FL. He is survived by his loving wife, E. Maureen Planitzer, Colonel, USMC, Retired, Ph.D.; two sons, James T. III (Kathy) and Anthony Konkiel IV; a brother, Robert (Lois); as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom live near Pittsburgh. He was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Naab; and his first wife, Patricia. Contributions may be made to the Outreach Ministry at Our Lady of Hope in Jim's memory to help our less fortunate neighbors. At Jim's request, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Raymond J. O'Leary at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. Interment with full military honors will occur at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil, PA. STAGON THOMAS PAUL On his 85th birthday, July 12, 2015, Thomas was called to his eternal reward after a brief illness. Thomas was the beloved son of the late Andrew and Mary (Jacko) Stagon. Thomas is survived by his loving brother, Leonard Stagon of West Mifflin; he was the devoted uncle of Ronald (Sharon) Stagon, Carolyn Napierkowski and Laura (Gregg) Morris; he is also survived by loving nephew, Zachary Brendza; and nieces, Meghan and Julia Morris. Thomas was an Army veteran of the Korean War, retired from U.S. Steel Homestead and Irvin Works with 45 years of service as a store clerk. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Cathedral. He served as president of the CAMEO Club and as a church usher. Tom enjoyed singing with the Archeparchial Choir for many years. He was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union Lodge - Munhall. Tom was an avid bowler and followed the Steelers and the Pirates. He enjoyed his trips to the casinos. PATTERSON KIMBERLY LYNN Age 43, of Hookstown, PA, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA after a three and a half year battle with ovarian cancer. Born July 24, 1971, in McKees Rocks, PA, Kimberly was the daughter of Terry Kinnear (Pat) of Pittsburgh, PA and Linda Kinnear (John McKenzie) of Neville Island, PA. After 25 years of service, Kimberly retired as a law clerk for the Webb Law Firm. She was a regular attendee of the Everyday Church in New Manchester, WV, and a devout born again Christian and an avid hiker. In addition to her parents, Kimberly is survived by her husband, James Robert Patterson; son, Justin Ryan Kinnear of Hookstown, PA; brother, Terry Kinnear of Meadville, PA; niece and nephews, Hanna, Hunter, Cody and Chase Patterson; and a host of friends. JANOSIK JEAN M. Age 82, of Finleyville, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home. She was born June 10, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Steven and Mary Kriston Sholock. Mrs. Janosik was a homemaker and a member of St. Gregory Byzantine Catholic Church in Upper St. Clair. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Joseph Janosik; three daughters, Patti Zur of Bethel Park, Nanci Hickey and her husband, Ray, of South Park, and Valerie Nehilla and her husband, Tom, of Duncannon, PA; a sister, Margaret Kaczynski of West View; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was born on January 19, 1916, in North Braddock to the late George and Mary Kriegelsteiner Heupler. She is survived by seven children and their spouses Bernadette (William) Page, Kathleen (Michael) Pratko, George (Sandy) Bower, Charles (Donna) Bower, Maria (Charles) Swearingen, Marianne (Mark) Yuill, and Virginia Bower; ten grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bower, Sr.; a daughter, Cecelia Thomas; and her brothers, Rev. Charles Heupler, O.F.M. Capuchin, and Dr. Fred Heupler. Mrs. Bower was a 1933 graduate of Scott High School and a 1936 graduate of Saint Francis College. Joanne is survived by brother, Charles L. (Darlene) Panza of Finleyville; sister, Rosanne (Lenard) Hughs of FL; brother, Samuel (Maryann) Panza of SC; nieces and nephews. She was a 1964 graduate of Clairton High School, received a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1968 and also attended Harvard. Joanne was the head of the budget department and secretarial pool for NIH in Washington, DC, a member of St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, was very friendly, outgoing and a lover of cats. He was born on June 2, 1947, in McKees Rocks, the son of the late George A. "Bud" and Theresa Blumling Herbert. He was a 1965 graduate of Montour High School. George was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive. Mr. Herbert retired as a Sales Rep from Nabisco.
