SWARMER LOIS MAE (KLINGENSMITH) Age 92, of Tarentum, passed to her eternal home into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born December 10, 1925, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Lebious and Sara (Bouch) Klingensmith. Lois was a homemaker with a strong faith in her Lord, as well as an LPN for Graham Nursing Home. For seven years she worked alongside her husband as volunteers for MAPS.RV.VOLUNTEERS. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Walter J. Swarmer, of Tarentum; daughter, Barbara Ann (Dennis) Willis of Concord, NC; sons, Walter D. (Sherry) Swarmer, of Gibsonia, Robert M. Swarmer of Greensburg; five Grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Beverley was preceded in death by her father, Lyman Clayton II; mother, Marjorie Clayton; and brother, Lyman (Skip) Clayton III. Beverley was born and raised in Wolf Point, MT. She married Chuck in 1967 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Bev attended Montana State University and graduated from the Denver School of Nursing, Denver, CO. Beverley raised her family in Pittsburgh, PA. She was known for her radiant smile and everlasting friendships. Once someone met Bev, they never forgot her. She was memorable. Beverley was devoted to her grandchildren and deeply loved her family. Beverley enjoyed scrapbooking with friends and volunteering at the North Valley Foodbank in Whitefish. Bev also was a hospice volunteer while living in Scottsdale, AZ. Beverley fought a short battle with cancer. Despite her illness she remained positive and maintained extraordinary courage and grace. MALANOS ATHENA K. DOLLY Known to all as Dolly, age 94, born November 20, 1923, in Pittsburgh to George and Vasiliki Mitchell, lost her battle to live a full life on Monday, March 12, 2018. Loving wife of the late Arch Malanos, she was predeceased by brothers, Nick and Gus and beloved sister, Millie Caridis. She leaves behind her devoted children, Amy Kleissas (Nick) and Jim Malanos (Marilyn); and beloved sister, Helen Kontis. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Katie Haynes (Matt), Dean Kleissas (Lauren), Mary Malanos and Lucy Malanos; and great-grandchildren, Josh and Tyler Haynes, in addition to her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dolly, also known to all as the Cookie Lady, lived happily independent at Asbury Heights for eight years, before moving to Asbury Villas for the last two years of her life. At Asbury Villas, she received the most skillful and loving care, even though her cookie days were behind her. She was a long-time member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Mt. Lebanon. Living most of her life in Peters Township, Dolly's passion was the competitive game of golf and in her younger days she could be seen on many of the Western PA golf courses. She and her husband also loved to travel and she made many memories in the United States, Greece and other countries. She was fond of saying that in any place she visited she would find someone with ties to her hometown of McKees Rocks. BIERER RUTH SIBEL Age 86, formerly of Ligonier, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Berryville, VA. She was born October 14, 1931 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Floyd R. and Sara Jane Condo Sibel. Prior to her retirement, she had owned the former Harrowsgate Antiques and Essential Health Food Store, both located in Ligonier. She was a member of St. Michael's of The Valley Episcopal Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She had also been a member of the Women's Opera Guild in Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Coil; a sister, Mary Lou Grove; and a brother, Glenn Miller. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William E. Bierer, who she married in New York City on August 22, 1959. She is also survived by two children, Nan (Bruce) Coil of Unison, VA and William E. (Rebecca) Bierer III of Queen Creek, AZ; six grandchildren, Gunner, Chelsey, Tucker and Hadley Coil, Jessi Jewell, and William E. Bierer IV; and a brother, Fred (Nancy) Sibel of Orlando, FL.
