DIPLACIDO MARIANNE (GRANDE) FA...
DiPLACIDO MARIANNE (GRANDE) Family and friends mourn death of Beloved Marianne DiPlacido, Local Real Estate Agent. Age 60, passed peacefully Monday, March 12, 2018 with her husband, whom she cherished, and her family at her side as a result of complications from a liver biopsy. Sadly, she passed on their 32nd wedding anniversary. Born in 1957 to Elvidio and Elvita (Gallo) Grande. She is the oldest of three daughters and lived in Apollo before moving to Shadyside. She graduated from Apollo-Ridge in 1975. During high school, she was head majorette. Her cousin, Colleen Albert, was her coach. She was fondly known as Aunt Minnie by her nephew, Angelo and her nieces, Amanda, Alexandra and Nicole. Survivors include her beloved husband, Frank of 32 years; her father, Elvidio; her two sisters, Antonetta and her husband, Joe Giunta, Lisa and her husband, Jeff Bono; brothers-in-law, Guy DiPlacido and Louis (Sally) DiPlacido; sisters-in-law, Louise (William) Branham and Jeanne (Robert) Short. Also survived by aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended Grande family in Italy. Preceded in death by her mom, Elvita Gallo Grande who died in 2004; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Madeline Gallo; and paternal grandparents, Antonio and Maria Grande; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane (DiPlacido) Bosa and Theresa (DiPlacido) Wahonick; brothers-in-law, Carmen DiPlacido, Pasquale DiPlacido, baby Lewis DiPlacido, and Gaetano DiPlacido. Her mom became ill during her senior year of high school and she stepped up to take the role of mom to her younger sisters, Antonetta and Lisa. When she knew a family member was ill, she would call every day during their illness to see how they were feeling. After her mom passed, she never let a day go by that she did not call her father just to see how his day was going. She looked forward to him visiting her and their lunches. She always went the extra mile for her nephew and nieces. Godmother to her nephew, Angelo. She was encouraging him to continue his education at the University of Pittsburgh or CMU so she and Frank could be near him if he needed anything or perhaps a quick home cooked meal. Confirmation Sponsor to her niece, Amanda. Lunch buddy with her niece, Alexandra. She worked for her father in his automotive business until he retired and then opened a similar business with her husband. She became interested in real estate so they decided to change professions and developed and built The 5301 Fifth Avenue Condominiums. She worked for REMAX Realty Brokers in Squirrel Hill for 20 years. Real Estate became her passion as she grew to be a multi-million dollar agent. She developed close relationships with all of her clients. Their repeat business was proof of the dedication she provided to her clients. Her colleagues remember her as such a kind person with a giving heart who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. They enjoyed spending time with her as she was an inspiration to their team. Recently, she helped her niece, Amanda and fiancé, Greg buy their first home. Frank and Marianne were inseparable and enjoyed cooking and entertaining their family and friends. A Christmas tradition was delivering poinsettias every year to all her clients as a thank you for their trust in working with her to secure their dream home. They looked forward to seeing her come by each year to spread the joy. She will be dearly missed by her vast real estate clients. She recently wanted to pay it back and train a new agent coming into the business by sharing her success and rewards in hopes of her becoming as successful as she had been. She looked forward to celebrating the Christmas Eve Seven Fishes tradition with her family followed by going to midnight mass at St. Paul Cathedral. Family and Friends will be received on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street.
