ANTHONY J. "TONY" PERRY Age 53, of Shadycrest, unexpectedly, on Tuesday May 5, 2020. WILLIAM "BILL" LEY Age 94, died peacefully on Monday, May 4, at Mt. Assisi Place in Ross Township, formerly of West View. Bill was a member of the first graduating class of North Catholic High School. Prior to entering the corporate world, he was in the Air Force from 1944-1946 earning the rank of Sergeant. Bill then worked for 41 years as a Draftsman for Pittsburgh - Des Moines Steel Corporation. During his time there, he was an avid bowler on the company bowling team. He enjoyed his time in retirement by watching any sporting event he could, doing any crossword puzzle that came his way, and enjoying his grandchildren with chipped ham sandwiches on Mancini's, with a Pepsi. Survivors include three sons, William Jr. (Mary Jo), Dennis, joseph (Cheryl); two daughters, Janet Bower and Susan Sauers, all from Pittsburgh; 12 grandchildren, Julie (Kevin), Jason (Mary), William III, Brett, Jaime, Tara, Adam, Samantha, Michael, Jeffrey, Brianne (John), and Olivia; and nine great-grandchildren with one more on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jeanne, who he missed dearly since her passing in 1995 and their oldest daughter, Jeanne in 2010. CHRISTOPHER MARSHALL GORDON MARCH 30, 1960 - APRIL 30, 2020 Christopher Marshall Gordon, age 60, of Oakdale, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2020 in Sarasota, Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tracey Smith and adored 11-year-old son, Alexander “Xander” Tucker Gordon. Chris was the son of Thomas “Tucker” P. Gordon (Kathryn) and the late Nancy H. Gordon (nee Hannon); brother of Dr. Amy H. Gordon (James), Timothy H. Gordon (Wendy), Sara G. McCargo (Thomas); step-brother of James P. Edson (Linda), KristinF. Edson (Helen), Sarah E. Gauthier (Jay), Michael H. Edson, Anne E. Lassiter (Nolan), and Kathryn E. Koppanyi (Andras). Chris is also survived by his 29 nieces and nephews. Chris received a B.S. degree in Political Science from Clarion University in 1983 and completed additional business administration studies at The University of New Orleans. He spent his career as a day trader on the American Stock Exchange. Chris was an outstanding athlete. He and his father, Tucker, were regulars in the winner's circle at the annual Thornburg Memorial Day Tennis Tournament. He enjoyed playing tennis with Tracey, Xander and friends at the Sarasota Surf and Racquet Club. Chris was a sports enthusiast for all seasons, and proudly served as the administrator of the Gordon Family Fantasy Football League. Chris loved spending time outdoors with his family at Canandaigua Lake, especially hiking up Bopple Hill. He had a passion for music and loved vinyls from the 70's and 80's. He enjoyed sharing that love with his son, Xander. He was a wonderful writer who regularly entertained with unique and funny insights into everyday life. Chris will be dearly missed for his keen intellect, loving nature and unbridled devotion to his family. Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date. CATHARINE (KANTO) LITVAK Age 90, of Carnegie, PA and formerly of Scott Township, left this earthly life on May 4, 2020. She was born in Arnold, PA to Zachary and Anna Kanto and was an active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. After graduating from Arnold High School in 1947, she worked for ALCOA in the business office. Eventually she worked for U.S. Steel as a key punch operator. She married Peter Litvak in 1957 and settled in Scott Township where she became a devoted homemaker and mother. She was a parishioner of St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carnegie were she took an active role in every aspect of parish life: Church School teacher, Board of Directors officer, Kitchen Worker, Choir member, Sisterhood member and Ukrainian Egg writer. “Kay” as she was known by her friends, enjoyed reading a good book, trying a new recipe and working on her crafts while watching the Penguins or Pirates on TV—never missing a game. Beside her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, William in 1944. Catharine will be remembered fondly every day with wonderful memories to fill the void she leaves behind by her daughter, Stephanie Swindle; son-in-law, Rev. Fr. Mark Swindle; and granddaughters, Victoria, and Anna Swindle. She is also survived by daughter, Christine Mills; son-in-law, Jeffrey Mills; granddaughters, Justina, Gabrielle, and Rebecca; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Interment will be at St. Peter and St. Paul Parish Cemetery in Scott Township. Regrettably, viewing and services are private due to health constrictions currently in place. SALLY KAY LYONS On Saturday, May 2, 2020, Sally Kay Lyons, of Greenfield, passed peacefully with her loving granddaughter, Krystal at her side. Born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on March 8, 1941, beloved daughter of Roscoe Ellsworth Craig and Rose Gene Craig (Dufour), youngest of three children, Tom and Jim Craig. Sally was a devoted mother of the late Ronny Kirk and grandmother of early departed Kelly Kirk. Survived by a daughter, Kristi Garvin along with her loving grandchildren, Patrick Connors, Krystal Connors and Emily Garvin, as well as her two great-granddaughters. In her younger years, Sally greatly enjoyed participating in pool tournaments and spending time with friends and family. She cherished animals and took enjoyment in always being on the move, you could always find her walking around with a smile. During her later years, she took her greatest pleasure in spending time with and helping to raise her grandchildren whom she cared for most of all. Sally's cheerfulness and compassion for others is something that will be dearly missed by all that had the joy of knowing her. Beloved wife of the late William A. "Bill" Busch and sister of the late Helen Louise Mertz and the late Patricia A. Wagner. She is survived by nephews, Lane H. (Dorene) Wagner of Mt. Lebanon and Richard T. (Theresa) Wagner of New Kensington; nieces, Carole A. (the late Frank) Mushkin of Chesterfield, MO, Nancy L. (Tony) Hally of Henrico, VA, and Cathleen M. MARVIN J. LALLI Marvin J. Lalli, 80, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on May 6, 2020, in Boca Raton, FL. Marvin was born in Canonsburg, PA, to Nick and Jennie Lalli on January 17, 1940. He celebrated the last bar mitzvah at the Canonsburg Synagogue, and he graduated from Canonsburg High School in 1957. Marvin went on to earn a degree from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in 1962 where he would later serve as the president of the alumni association, earn his PharmD, and teach. Marvin also served in the U.S. Air Force. He spent the majority of his career working in the university hospitals in Pittsburgh for Eli Lilly & Co. - and later Roche. Marvin's contributions to his community were abundant, including to his beloved Beth El Congregation in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, the Community Liver Alliance, and - in recent years - mentoring Pittsburgh Public Schools students via the United Way. Marvin is survived by his wife, Myra Katzman Lalli of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Ian Lalli of Doylestown, PA; son, Howard Lalli of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Diane Lalli Saketkhou of Boca Raton, FL; brother, Bernie Lalli of Cecil Township, PA; sister, Frieda Lalli of Pittsburgh, PA; ten grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. FRANK "BUZZ" MASTANDREA Age 86, of Castle Shannon, on Monday, May 4, 2020, after a strong fight against lymphoma. Beloved son of the late Emilio and Rose Mastandrea. Preceded in death by siblings, Angelina Mastandrea, Helen Doria, Dr. Carl Mastandrea and Antoinette Lacek; loving husband of 64 years to Gracetta (Ferito) Mastandrea; father of Grace (George) Klein, Frank D. Mastandrea, Chris (Linda) Mastandrea and the late Anthony Mastandrea. World's best grandfather to Lisa (Jason Coll) Klein, Ryan (Sonya) Klein, Maria (Andrew) Coholic and Nick Mastandrea; great-grandfather to Liam Coll, Sophia Klein, Karina Coll, Patrick Klein and Dominic Coholic. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as friends. Frank was born and raised on a small farm in Castle Shannon. He worked day and night on that farm for over 80 years and was most well-known for his legendary tomatoes. He graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1952. A lifelong farmer, his industrious life also included work for US Steel as a carpenter, designing and selling homes in the South Hills for Woodlawn Builders and LuJon Construction, as well as working as a real estate agent. Frank also was an inventor who held two patents. Due to the current health crisis, visitation and funeral services will be held privately. However, a memorial service will be held at a later date. CHARLES HOWARD "CHUCK" LEAVITT Age 54, of Pittsburgh, PA died May 6, 2020 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA from injuries sustained by a mountain biking accident. Chuck was born January 26, 1966 in Providence, RI; a son of Dr. Priscilla F. Leavitt of Mineral Wells, WV and the late Carr K. Leavitt. Chuck was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School, Class of 1984 and attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and later obtained his Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering also from CMU. He currently was employed as a Senior Engineer at Elliott Group, Ebara Corporation where he worked as a Stress Analyst. He was known as a problem solver and was the go to source when nobody else could figure things out. Among Chuck's many hobbies and interests were fencing, mountain biking, snow skiing and boarding and water skiing. He even held a captain's sailing license, taking his family and friends on voyages on Lake Erie and the Chesapeake Bay. Chuck was known as a tinkerer and nothing was too old to keep it running, including his 1978 Marquis boat that he enjoyed taking his friends and family out on the river. Most of the time even getting them back despite a mechanical delay. He also was an avid motorcyclist, both street and dirt, passing his love of dirt bikes on to his entire family. He loved adventure and taking his family to unique places to ride and to simply enjoy the outdoors. In addition to his mother, Chuck is survived by his wife, Sharon Neeld Leavitt; three children, Brenna Leavitt, Carra Leavitt and Alex Leavitt all of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Jon (Reinnie) Leavitt of Parkersburg, Stephen (Rebecca) Leavitt of Parkersburg; one sister, Dr. Jennifer Leavitt of Mineral Wells, WV; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date to be held in Pittsburgh, PA. BECKY LYNN (DAUGHERTY) KAMINSKI Age 50, passed away after a prolonged illness on May 5, 2020. She was born on April 22, 1970 and was preceded in death by her husband, Karl D. Kaminski and her father, Warren L. Daugherty. Becky will be remembered by her big heart and generosity. Becky is survived by her mother, Linda Daugherty; brother, Ronald J. (Diane) Daugherty; sister, Tammy (Mark) Kerr; nieces, Pam Burdick, Christy Cubellis; and nephews, Ryan Kerr, Ronald W. Daugherty, Jonathan Kerr. Also survived by her mother-in-law, Florence Kaminski. JEFFREY HAROLD CONLEY Age 66, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2020 at Westmoreland Manor, in Greensburg, after his strong battle with cancer. Jeffrey lived in West Mifflin, PA. He was born on June 22, 1953, in Pittsburgh, to the late Lucille and James Conley. Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Darlene (Deverts) Conley and his four children, Heather Conley, Amber Conley, Colleen (Conley) Blissman and Brian Conley. He was also adored by his three grandchildren USMC LCpl Derek O'Neal, Dustin Rigby and Chloe Blissman. He is survived by his two brothers and sister, Les Conley, Kevin Conley, and Maureen Rostek, along with his nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with his family, watching Steeler and Penguin games, celebrating holidays and he was always there to lend a helping hand.
