Robert was born and raised in Kittanning, PA, a graduate of Kittanning High School, and Cambria-Rowe Business College of Johnstown, PA. He served in the US Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman where he was a Flight Crewman in a Blimp training squadron in Brunswick, GA and also served as a Flight Crewman in Patrol Squadron VP-4 in Okinawa. He worked for United States Steel Corporation, USS Chemical and Aristech Chemical Corporation for over 35 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the North Hills Community Baptist Church. Robert enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader but mostly loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, brother and sister. Beloved husband of Sally (Sullivan) Bellante for 43 years; loving and caring father of Gina Bellante of Greenfield, Joseph Bellante, Jr. of Monroeville, Vinnie (Karen) Bellante of West Mifflin, Fran (Lori) Bellante of TN, Marla Cowell of OH, James (Angel) Bellante of Monroeville, Dawn Bellante of East Pittsburgh, and the late infant, Andrew; Joe is also survived by 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother of James Bellante, Fran Bellante, Mary Ann Duch, Bee Bee Lilja and the late Rosemarie Amodeo. Joe was the subject and main character of the novel, Left for Dead, a true story of Joe's journey from organized crime to the ministry. A large focus of his ministry was to the youth. Outreaching with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, he ministered to Peabody High School for many years and coached football and wrestling as well. He also ministered to Arsenal Middle School, and, for many years, provided prison ministry. Through his years as a minister, Joe ministered with Young Life, Urban Partners, and finally Joe Bellante Ministries, which served under the auspices of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation. Joe continued his ministry into retirement with anyone he came to meet, even in the hospital during his dying days. Besides the ministry, Joe had a deep passion for football. He played as a youth for the Morningside Bulldogs and was a member of the 1957 Championship Wilkinsburg High School Football Team. After high school, he played minor pro football, mostly for the East End Chiefs. For his excellence as a player, in 2005, Joe was inducted into the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame. Georgie was known for her fabulous cooking and she enjoyed baking cookies for friends and family. She was also gifted at sewing and knitting. Everyone who knew Georgie will always remember her generous heart and how she would do anything for anyone. She loved to laugh and had a special place in her heart for animals. Georgie always had to have pets and was especially fond of her dog, Mandy, and cats, Bandit and Peaches. KLOSS HELEN B. (BABINECZ) A long time resident of Vernon Ave., in Pittsburgh, PA., passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018 at Inspired Living Assisted Healthcare facility in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Helen was born on February 4, 1923 to the late Anna and Anthony Babinecz. She grew up in Oakland and graduated from Schenely High School. She met and married Carl W. Kloss of Brentwood while they both were working at McGee hospital. They celebrated more than fifty years of marriage before his passing in 1993. Helen was the last survivor of six siblings; Andrew Babinecz, George Babinecz, John Babinecz, Mary Langol and Margaret Takach. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (John) Camino of Lakewood Ranch, FL and her son, Paul (Lou Ann) Kloss of Summerville, SC. She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Helen worked for Bell Telephone and AT&T for more than forty years. She spent her latter retirement years with her son in State College, PA and more recently with her daughter in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Helen loved good food, gardening, playing cards and working Bingo. She enjoyed going to church and especially watching and rooting for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. She had a great smile and a good sense of humor. She enjoyed people and was always ready and willing to provide a helping hand. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and a sister. Ed was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He continued the love of his country by starting a career with the US Postal Service in 1946 where he worked for 35 years and retired as the Postmaster in Braddock, PA in 1981. With his passion for education, in addition to working full time, Ed received his bachelor's degree from Point Park University. His retirement years were spent serving as the director of the Salvation Army Golden Age Club in Braddock, PA where he enjoyed planning trips and programs. Armed with wit and a joke of the day, Ed was always able to make you laugh and smile. His kindness and compassion were shared with many.
